Messenger Plus

I installed Messenger plus from download.com and as i started to run it, AVG said that there was a virus!! what the hell, i thought. i check the user reviews and one other person had this... plus other numerous accounts of spyware/adware. what's up with this. is download.com hosting virus infested programs or did AVG just detect some viruslike behavior? anyone else had this happen to them?

I never heard of Messenger Plus.

Try going to a better place to download freeware such as http://www.nonags.com

Or visit the programs website instead.

Messenger Plus has an optional thing when you install it that it adds a whole bunch of ads and spyware to your computer if you click yes. Don't click yes obviously. I use MP and I'm virus free.

Don't install the "sponser" when you install msgplus

i don't see any option for not installing any sponsors or anything like that...

choose custom install
