So this was the most retarded move ive done ever. I completely lost my train of thought and this is what happened, so I started with getting my processor in, done, I put the pea sized thermal grease on there, now this is were I screwed up, I swore I took off that "TAKE THIS PLASTIC PIECE OFF THE BOTTOM ON THE COOLER" you know, the thing that protects the bottom of the heatsink part. well anyway I lost my thought here, and ended up putting it on. I then thought and looked at my cooler later, and then im like oh *bleep* so I take it off, took the plastic piece off. and put it back on, I already had thermal grease on, so what I was wondering, Ive heard processors and heatsink plates, when they have anything but thermal grease and processor/heatsink plate on it, it can horribly increase your temp. or even overheat your computer. I did touch the plastic protector a few times while trying to take it out, etc. so did the plastic screw this up yes or no.

You should be okay. Remove the cooler, clean the contact surfaces carefully, and give it another shot. Chalk it up as a learning experience.

This is good that you have noticed your mistake PRIOR to turning on your computer for the first time.

Look at post #2 as it tells pretty much what you need to do.
