That is so obviously stupid.

check this quote out:

"(13) Yes, there is a post office.

(14) The Internet is still alive and well in the future. People spend more time talking because life is more centered on the community.

(15) When I'm with my parents, I live in a community made up of "tree houses" on a large river in Florida. The river floods sometimes and we have access to the Gulf. Most of our neighbors make a living off the sea or in moving cargo by boat.

(16) There is a civil war in the United States that starts in 2005. That conflict flares up and down for 10 years. In 2015, Russia launches a nuclear strike against the major cities in the United States (which is the "other side" of the civil war from my perspective), China and Europe. The United States counter attacks. The US cities are destroyed along with the AFE (American Federal Empire)...thus we (in the country) won. The European Union and China were also destroyed. Russia is now our largest trading partner and the Capitol of the US was moved to Omaha Nebraska.

(17) Yes, genetic engineering is used but it's like any other technology. It can be good and bad. One thing we did not do was create more hybrid seeds. What are people thinking?

3 billion people killed in a nuclear holocaust, but the internet works fine and they all live in tree houses. LOL

I think people strive to reach beyond themselves in belief; in hope; in religion.
This is like a fantasy, and our world is enriched by believing it could be possible.

John came out?

sigh...

I have no choice but to reveal myself.

My name is Gumba from planet Bowser.

I have traveled here from the past (exactly 2 billion years ago).

My mission was to take over the world, but I found ATOT and have been stuck here ever since... :|

I'm ALF from the planet Melmac. I came here many years ago to take over the world as well, but I got stuck doing AT&T commercials with Carrot Top and banging plenty of chicks instead.

"He also posted on other forums including the old Art Bell site"

That right there destroys any remote chance this was real.

Why is that? I'm not familiar with Art Bell website.

Regardless of whether or not anyone thinks this is real or hoax, I must say that after reading through that entire site it is certainly some rather thought-provoking social commentary. I like what he says about our current society, "No one likes you in the future. This time period is looked at as being full of lazy, self-centered, civically ignorant sheep."

And the bleak future he portrays in his stories are quite likely given the current status of things. George Orwell wasn't making solid predictions about the future when he wrote 1984. But the novel portrayed a very possible outcome of future events within a totalitarian government. This is sort of the way I view the John Titor story.

Freaky stuff. Just got a PM from someone asking about my signature. I was actually referring to the asteroid in my signature. But this stuff has got me spooked.

I was just discussing 1984 today, and how frighteningly close George Orwell was to what the world is today - being monitored 24/7 - tel. line taps, email monitoring, spy satellites and planes, etc. At the same time the goverment is trying to protect us and our privacy, the are going back on their very own word and exploiting their monitoring on us through deliberate loopholes in their own documents.

Scary stuff.

Freaky Friday Thought...

Perhaps you already are dead. If DNA can be traced back to it's owner from a century ago, perhaps your consciousness can be tapped too. You might a "tape" played over and over by distant beings thousands of years in the future. You exist as long as that cosmic DVD keeps playing.

Pleasant thought isn't it? :Q

There is a forum that has a lot of people who believe in this Titor guy. I don't know if any of you post there. Supposedly people sent him e-mails and he was supposed to send them e-mails somewhere between when he went back to 1975 and then back to 2036. Supposedly they had weird estrange occurances happen to them. They saw signs change over night (kinda like Back to the Future), had weird strange deja vu occurances, etc. If you want, you can get the link to the forum off the johntitor.com website.
