Message from Gigabyte UD4P RAID controller...

Im not sure if this is the right forum or if storage is better, but im running this mobo and started getting a message during POST that says the status my RAID is "verify." It used to be "healthy." During POST it runs through the various controllers for each port and all the ports (4 of them) that are RAIDed are "healthy" (and in green font), but the overall summary of the array is "verify." I have looked all over and cant find out what this means. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Which motherboard exactly you got?
The suffix would be present in more than 1 gigabyte model 😉

Ga-MA790X-UD4P?

Have you installed Matrix Storage Manager? If you have it installed, you can see the verification process moving in percentages once booting into the OS. I suspect the process is initiated even if you don't have the MSM installed. You should let it finish verification - takes a few hours, but if you shut down the system it will go back and do it from the beginning until it finishes.

Yeah, that MSM does all the necessary rebuild. I had to rebuild a RAID 5 and it does it transparently (after replacing a disc). I didnt like RAID5 so i did a RAID0+1 and this is what was giving me the "verify" message. It must have rebuilt itself because the message is now "normal." I wish there was a windows app that would let me look at the RAID status in detail. MSM is a "hidden" app. Anyway, thanks.
