With the release of ATI's and Nvidia's next GPU's knocking on our door, and from a historical perspective, we have decided to be a bit more proactive on this topic.

All must adhere to the forum rules/guidelines when posting.
This as you know includes ZERO personal attacks. You can discuss the hardware, but do not discuss the poster or what you think of them for having opinions.

The forum rules/guidelines should be followed at all times. Not just for this launch. But we thought it appropriate to "bolster" this fact due to the launch.

It is understandable that it is exciting when new hardware comes out, but that doesn't give license to be disrespectful to fellow members.

So, lets make this topic enjoyable to discuss.

Thanks in advance.

Can we still tell people what they said was stupid if they say something that is quantifiably stupid?

That would seem to be within the rules...it's not a personal attack, it's simply pointing out the deficiencies in that post.

😉😀😉😱

yes, for example, maybe something like "ATIFANBOY, your post explaining why the 9700 pro is better than 8800gtx was enormously stupid and inconsiderate. It was also a phenomenal waste of a good portion of my life. You seem like a very nice person, however" would be ok, right?

A little common sense goes a long way. I would think calling someone an ATIFANBOY would prompt a retort, don't you? And then what happens? Yeah.

You might try this:

"AT member", your post explaining why the 9700 pro is better than 8800gtx was enormously innacurate and here's why. (Explaination here)."

Destroy them with facts. Not by insults and name calling. It's more satisfying in the end.

Obviously if someone's posts something like THAT, he/she is most likely just looking to troll, and they will be closely observed to see what comes of it.

But you get the point.

wheres rollo when you need him.... 😀

seriously tho, i find a few personal conflicts rather entertaining, is this another "zero-tolerance" policy? or is it, ever so slightly, bendable?

yeah man agreed!by the way, whats the 8800gtx vs ati blah blah about!!!

core2quad q6600

As long as everyone agrees I'm right, things will go smoothly.

Seriously though things sure have been quiet around here.

Let's get ready to rumble.

LOL, a similar thread was posted about Barcelona coming out, it got a 5 star rating. This one has a one star (as of now) rating. lol, I guess the cpu crowd and video card crowd are really 2 different sets of people 😛

that's probably ok, as long as you don't say "my video card sux b/c it's a voodoo 3000" or maybe "my video card sux b/c it's an intel (tm) integrated graphics solution".

If he can insult himself, he can get offended at himself, which raises the possibility of a flame war with himself. So I would have to say no...
