I just love watching the smug elite eating crow. Specially those in here that constantly reminded everyone that Clinton had the election in the bag multiple times daily.
I especially enjoyed their references to "scientific" polls to make their case...and their incessant condescension and ridicule as well.

I find it sad that you'd rather be able to look down on people vs voting in a charlatan petulant child as president.

You are a very selfish person. You'd rather get your rocks off than have a decent person in the White House.

As opposed to the smug elites that are about to take office? It's still amusing how Trump supporters act as if their man is a counterculture rebel. He's a business tycoon who's forming an administration comprised largely of corporate execs and politicians paid off by corporate interests. He's not fighting the establishment; he is the establishment.

I would like to know people's definition of "elite" Its used frequently as a pejorative by the right to put other people/organizations down.

I suppose I'm a victim of the difference between the definition of "celebrity" and the way the word gets used.

A celebrity by definition is simply a well known or famous person. By that definition there was no candidate for president who wasn't a celebrity.

The way i use the word, and I think others do too, is to describe the typical Hollywood elite. Beyonce, Clooney, Kardashian, people like Meryl Streep. A-list actors and such.

OK, how is Trump's very real celebrity any different than the Kardashians' very real celebrity?

They are celebrities, by your definition, for the very same reasons.

LoL: Kardashians = "A-list actors and such." They are REALITY show stars. nothing else. None of them were anything before that--oh, except extremely wealthy, uneducated, lazy motherfuckers. Gee, how strange.

Kardashians
Housewives of (pick your city)
Jersey Shore
Honey Boo-Boo
Trump
Duck Dynasty Guys

All belong in same list

An elitist apparently believes that a white, male, blue collar worker is fundamentally racist, misogynistic, and uneducated by definition....but can't fathom why they didn't vote for Hillary.

So basically zero people then, lol. The bubble is strong with you.

If there had been such a decent person to put in the white house I would have voted for him/her. Unfortunately, this election that option wasn't there. Maybe next time there will be better options.

Who has thin skin again? You just can't resist can you?

It looks like you do! lol. You said something stupid and obviously wrong, got called out on it, and now you're already sad and offended again.

As a friend, let me offer you some advice: if you don't like people teasing you for saying dumb things, don't say things that you absolutely know are stupid.

I didn't vote for Trump, it doesn't change the fact I'm enjoying watching the smug elite eat crow. Specially the one's in this forum that shit on everyone that didn't support "The Annointed One" for President.

Funny how a whole bunch of posters who profess to not care what Steep says have come here to comment about what she said.

What decent person was running for office? I sure as shit didn't vote for Clinton or Trump. - I might add that just because someone is anti-Clinton and finds the speech by this actress out of touch does not mean they voted for Trump.

I rendered an opinion regarding elitists and how they alienated some voters. There are some prominent Democrats who agree with me on this subject..."stupid and obviously wrong" as you think they may be. I don't know what your fucking problem is...but whatever it is, get over it....you're looking like a complete moron with a huge chip on his shoulder. BTW, Van Jones is looking at you.

Yes, your opinion was stupid and neither of the people you just linked to agreed with you, lol.

I don't have a problem, but it sure seems like you do! You're the one calling people names, angrily swearing, etc. Like I said, stop saying stupid things and I'll stop making fun of you for saying stupid things. I know you don't really believe half of the dumb things you say and are just ranting so why bother?

Good thing racial resentment and such are measurable and perfectly correlate with trump support, and it's not exactly hard to see why. A half-bright person might even ponder if he purposely targeted such demos using rhetoric that rather appealed to them. You know, that's what smart people do, figure things out using empirical thinking.

Fun! Now what's an elite? Since that was the question asked.

When Van Jones described obnoxious elitists and how they hurt the Party...he was looking at you. Did you even read the links?

Mr. Jones, a former adviser to President Obama, is still trying to make sense of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s stunning defeat one month ago. The longtime Democrat began his first live TV special “The Messy Truth” Tuesday night by urging both parties to self-reflect, “because right now, they both kind of suck.”

“It feels nearly impossible to have a productive conversation with ‘the other side,’ ” Mr. Jones said, CNN reported. “We are still acting like one side is always right and one side is always wrong.

“We have got to do better,” he said. “At our best, [Democrats] are the champions of America’s downtrodden working folks. But it’s also true that some very obnoxious elitism has found a home in our party.”

Mr. Jones said it’s that “elitist attitude” that may have cost his party the election.

“Democrats have gotten so used to saying stuff like ‘red state voters are stupid’ that we don’t even get how stuck up and terrible that sounds to anybody with good sense,” he said. “That elitist attitude may have cost us the Rust Belt. And this election.”

In that painting, it’s just the people reached on landlines that admit they plan to support Donald Trump who actually do. And those Trump voters time and again are given a suspiciously similar face: white; male; blue collar. And then those less neutral descriptors: racist; sexist; uneducated. The first three are often shorthand for the second set.
