Why are you spending it alone? :(

We never stop drilling for oil. Family is in Michigan, I work this year from the 16th to the 31st. Waiting on a call out from a drilling rig to run ultrasonic or acoustic cement bond logs depending on what they decide.

When you are sitting around your table with family and/or friends, take a moment to think about all the people out there that make life possible by keeping industries going 24/7/365. Producing oil, power, plowing the roads, etc.

You will no doubt be eating food cooked by energy that was produced by people like me and my colleagues.

My uncle used to work on rigs out in the Gulf, before his stroke. He worked Christmas almost every year, so that the guys with families could be at home.

He won't come home now, because we're too far north, and he doesn't like the cold. :(
