@WelshBloke I presume commuting to work was a cinch (I assume you don't work at home at any rate, you're a paramedic or something aren't you?) on Christmas Day? Yesterday was a pain doing a quick trip into the small town I live in: On one hand I drove into a parking space then went to slowly reverse out to straighten it up when some guy behind bibbed me and then drove past because clearly they couldn't wait another 30 seconds before I had finished parking... <dismissive wanking gesture>. On the other hand, I went into Lidl, picked up one item and took it to the checkout, naturally only one checkout running but another opened up just as I was joining the queue, then a bunch of people let me go to the front of the queue because I only had one item, so I guess not all these humans are bastards!

I'm a nurse that works nights so traffic isn't a problem I deal with!
I tend to let people be people and not worry too much if they are dicks! That's a them problem not a me problem!

my group is starting to get into board games a little bit, and we've only played monopoly a few times 😀 But they want to play Risk because they haven't before. I finally went out and bought a new set because I sold mine years ago....will probably break that out next. Someone else has bought a few modern games.

I picked up Root mostly unseen, because it promises to be a more complex Risk, but it's also one of those "modern games", which to me means a lot of annoying rules and complications and tokens and an hour of nerd-splaining to a group of people that just don't have time for this shit. I know it annoys me, too, but it looks cool and sounds interesting.

I'm going to wait to unleash that one once people are more broken in and get to the point they want to try more stuff. ....

But Risk is classic and awesome for a reason.
