Merging unallocated drive space in Vista

I have a recovery drive that had a lot of free space so I thought I would shrink it using the Disk Management tool. I assumed the freed space would be automatically allocated to my other drive, but I was wrong. How do I merge the unallocated drive space to my C drive?
 
I've been using Partion comander but its about 7 years old. I'm sure there are plenty of good free options available but never tryied any of them.
