merge folder of photos into one folder

so i have a few iphone photo backup folders that have some overlap. i am looking for a program that can analyze the files themselves so it know when a photo is a duplicate or when it is a different photo/video but just has the same file name.

i have allway sync but it doesn't seem to care about the file size, just the name of the file.

is it possible to do what i want?

I am not aware of any programs which can do that (thouhg IrfanView might, check their web page).

However, it is relatively easy to do with a PowerShell script. This might be an excuse to head over to the Programming forum and learn a bit of scripting.

VisiPics is a good one to remove duplicate images. But it doesn't merge folders. And it doesn't do video.
