Note that you can only use 20% of the total purchase price worth of free mercata dollars. In other words, buy something for $100, you get $20 off, so it is $80 and you have $80 worth of mercata money left.

i used that free $100 thing last week for a digital camera. ended up getting a good price even though i could only use 20% of it. the bad thing is that mercata does that credit card authorization thing in addition to the actual charge when you get your product. that means you have double the amount tied up in credit. now i gotta wait for that auth to drop off before i can use my card again cuz it thinks it full with that $200 auth sitting there. and i want in on that 12x cdrw deal at compusa but i cant cuz card is "full". stupid mercata.

Homer Simpson: you can probably call your credit card company and explain your situation. They will raise your limit most likely.

digme: the deal isn't all that bad. Of course the larger the purchase, the more mercata money you use. Personally I'd just sign up and take a look around... Unless it costs money. Price matching is covered in quite a few threads here...

Basically, you walk into the store, go get the merchandise, and walk up to the customer service desk. There you explain that you'd like to pricematch an item (note that the store has to have a pricematch policy). Then they'll try to get out of it by saying it isn't the same item, the price is higher, etc. Calling the competing store for the price is normal. To help your case you can purchase the item at the other store and then return it - now you have a receipt that you can use to prove that the price you say it should be is correct. You may have to ask for the manager if the customer service person isn't being very helpful.

I'm sure I missed a few details so anyone who feels like plugging the holes, go for it!

thank you my man.....at least what you told me was a good start....

Now I will search for those 30 off 100 or 60 off 100 deals...I think it's from site that you get those deals right? anyway?
if u got time please provide information..... It's already good to know that there are some decent and courteous people in this forum without a stick shoved up their a... being all self-righteous and all-knowing and a prick about telling how to do PM...
I really appreciate your efforts...

nothing but good things to say about mercata. while it can only be used for 20% off they have some awesome deals after that. i got my toshiba sd1200 for 145!!! shipping was like 6$. they have good prices after the discount and cheap shipping. their customer service is awesome. i accidentally placed an order for something and was able to cancel it after the sale was closed (you cant terminate an order after it closes, because when you order it drops the price, and if you cancel they cant raise the price again). and mercata didnt charge tax to me in texas. been very happy with them and will be buying a digital camera soon off there.

THe only thing I'd say about mercata is to stay away from the 12" 250 watt JBL subwoofer. Mine failed just like so many others did. But even 2.5 motnhs after the purchase the mercata reps agreed to take it back and even pick up the tab for shipping. Awesome service and I will order form them again!

Using this 20% off deal, you could get a smartmedia card 64 MB for just over $130. Does anyone know of a better deal?

The best way to use your Mercata new customer 20% off discount is to buy a 3 piece luggage set.

digme - E-mail me and I'll tell you where to find all the hidden coupons, I would post the web site here but then I'd be hung.
