Swedish man who donated sperm to a lesbian couple will have to pay child support, the Supreme Court has ruled.

This is sometimes brought up on the Tom Leykis radio show, and I think it was mentioned that a california sperm donor has been required to pay child support.

I could lose money? DAMN, change vote!

If I was protected from the responsibility of having to give it beer money and so on, i.e it was actually anonymous, then yes, at this time in my life, I'd donate sperm.

Whether the opinion might change, I don't know, but at the moment, I see no problem.

Being allowed to watch the lesbians having sex would be a bonus if I'm not allowed to join in.

My friends (lesbians) adopted two wonderful boys and they are happy and healthy, not to mention trilingual (English, Japanese, Korean) :thumbsup:

Very tough situation. Not sure how I would handle it. Assuming they are very close friends, and they agreed in writing that 1) I would not be held financially responsible and 2) my identity would not be disclosed to the child at any time, my inclination would be to help them out. I would never donate to a sperm bank however.
 
in all seriousness i wouldn't donate to anyone right now

not because of moral reasons but because they are able to nab you for child support later, this exact scenario happened in england i believe

the lesbian couple broke up and the one that kept the child was able to collect child support from the guy

in all seriousness, I wouldn't donate to anyone after finding out that I could be tagged for child support. also, depending on how the kid is raised, I wouldn't want him/her to come looking for me out of curiousity... it'd be too weird.
 
I don't know a lesbian couple well enough to give my sperm to them. But given them being very close friends and me knowing that they would take care of the child to the best of their ability, I probably would.

exactly what i was thinking about

and i believe there was another story about a 15 year old kid that was able to track down his dad by submitting his DNA to some organization or company pretty easily
