Hmmm, depends on who you're getting the directions from.
I'm grew up in NYC where directions are pretty straight forward. I had to go somewhere in the sticks (northern part of NY State), so I'm driving along on a road where there are no lights, no nothing.
I finally stop to ask directions in a General Store - ok, I know I'm taking a chance here.
The guy tells me "drive out, hang a left and go up the road a piece" - ok, now I know I've got some problems here.
I ask him how far down the road is "a piece." He tells me to keep driving 'til I see the corn fields - ok, now I'm pissed. I tell him: "It's November, aren't the corn fields gone, and how am I going to see flat ground where corn was in the dark?!
So, it all depends...
