Men in Skirts

This Friday, my boss is throwing his annual Scottish party to celebrate his heritage. It's a big event in the area and a lot of important people will be attending. We?re on really good terms so he'd like me to attend; the only catch is everyone has to wear highland dress, which basically means kilts for all the guys. I have no problems wearing a "skirt", but I think I?m gonna look really goofy. I'm black (born in Africa), 6ft, 170lbs, 20 years old, but most people can never guess my age they either think I?m a bit older or a bit younger.

I wanted to just buy one since he throws the party every year, but it turns out they're really expensive and I'm a poor grad student. So I'm looking for a place to rent one. I've already google'd a couple of places that rent them, but I just wanted to hear from someone with personal experience about where to get it from and about how much to pay.

And if there are any kilt experts around, what should I have my date wear? And should I shave my legs?

try calling costume stores in your area...there's bound to be someone who'll be helpful.

tried calling a few, none sold kilts, and most of the people working were ignorant high school kids that weren't any help.

these stores aren't probably near you (but they do rent out kilts!!!!), give 'em a call & ask 'em if there are any stores closer to you:
