Memtest86+

I have been running memtest86+ on my new system. I consistently have a failure on test #3 with one DIMM. I have removed both and tested them individually, in multiple slots. The same DIMM will fail about 33% of the time on test #3. The error shows "00000400" as the failure. I suspect it is a bad module. The other module never has a failure.

Any thoughts?

I'd adjust the memory timings / voltage before deeming it a bad memory module.

If everything in the bios is set to auto, or spd, then I wouldn't mess with timings or voltages, I'd just rma that ram. Call up Mushkin's support number tomorrow during the day and they'll set you up with an rma number.

I am running the memory at 2.1V, 4-5-4-11 timings. As a matched pair, they should operate exactly the same with the same settings. I would adjust timings and voltages if they were not a matched pair. I think by testing the DIMMs individually and in different slots proves that the one module is not in sync with the other.

I will be calling Mushkin later today to RMA the memory.

Thank you for the feedback.
