memtest86 errors due to power supply?

i have a stick of cheap generic frys 512mb ram that had errors in test 6. bought a higher quality power supply and the errors are gone! what is going on?

If you want to know if it's "possible" that a power supply can cause the memory problem then, yes absolutely. A poor or under sized power supply can cause every type of problem imaginable.

Did you run the test with your system all closed up, change the power supply and then run the test immediately with the case side open?
