Memtest won't work

I've got a new build on the bench and so far, it's running fine. I wanted to run Memtest on the RAM for a day, before putting the computer into service - but the program won't run! I've tried it over & over again.

The bios is set to boot from the CD/DVD drive and it does indeed, show the blue Memtest+ screen after it starts. But there is no activity, even after a long time. On every computer I've used it on in the past, Memtest+ has started right away and run as long as I let it.

I'm using the new version of the program designed for DDR2/3 systems. The computer I'm trying to test has an MSI motherboard and I'm worried maybe I should have stuck with Asus.

Have you tried setting everything to defaults except your memory speed, voltage, and timings and then run it?

Everything on that computer actually IS all at default. It all came up with the correct settings, from what I can tell and it seems to run fine.

The MemTest screen does ID the correct amount of ram and the i5 processor type. But other than identifying the system, it does nothing.

I know that the latest version of memtest is 4.10 but I think they have a beta version 4.20 you could try that. I believe it is located in the forums on their website.
