I recently had some windows crashes/fail to posts on my new build so I ran memtest, it failed miserably. I changed the voltage and it passed for about an hour. Does this mean the ram is bad or dieing, or is voltage a factor?
 
Based on what you have stated....voltage is a factor.

More info is needed to give you a definitive answer.

What ram, what board, what speed were you running?
