Memtest errors, windows says Device Driver

Starting to get BSOD's

Ran memtest and it did come up with some errors, when I send the crash report to MS, it says its a Device Driver.

When Memtest finds an error, does that mean there is something physically wrong with the RAM and it HAS to be replaced? Also if I replace the RAM will I still get these BSOD's saying its a Device Driver or is that another problem?
 
Usually if memtest reports an error, it is going to be a ram problem. When windows crashes, it trys to guess what caused it. Bad ram can look like a device driver to windows.

If you can borrow a good stick of memory from someone, or get a new stick, and then run memtest on the system, this will show whether its the ram or the system board.
 
just think i fixed it. even though everything is at stock, i cranked the RAM voltage and it seems to be going fine. Memetest ran for 2 hours without any errors. Thanks for help though, i am going to continue to test.
 
I was about to post a topic on a similar problem. Ever since I built my new PC about a month ago I have been getting BSOD's every few days. Usually happens while I'm surfing the web. It happened most recently yesterday and when the PC rebooted all my bookmarks were gone. The error report says:

Have no idea what to make of it but windows seems to think it's a device driver as well. Haven't run memtest yet so that would be my next step.
 
yeah i kept trying different video drivers but nothing worked, then i ran memtest and it came up with errors. as soon as i increased the voltage everything seems to be OK, run memtest asap.
 
Are you overclocking something?
If you have to go to a non-standard voltage to make your RAM work, I'd suggest replacing it with non-defective RAM.
 
Nope, everything is at stock. I have Corsair XMS (2x512) , and its really good RAM (rated 2-2-2-5). Not sure what the stock voltage is supposed to be, but when I turned it up everything is ok. If I get errors again I will send them in to Corsair, I think they have a lifetime warranty.
 
Yeah, there's NO reason to be getting errors in Memtest86+. If you take a factory PC with factory memory, it'll pass that test. Your Corsair should pass it too. If not, replace it.

btw, I typically run Memtest for AT LEAST 8 hours. Maybe 24. There should be zero errors.
