Memtest 86 2.9 accurate on P4B266-C & 512MB Crucial?

I have a P4B266-C with 1.6A running nicely @ 2133Mhz with all automatic settings ... nothing really stressful. It's been running fine but I just wanted to check the 512MB Crucial (infineon) chip module I had before attempting any real overclocking. Test 3 showed a failure at 00ad778c 10.8Mb Errbits: 000400000 (error count kept incrementing all the way). It's consistent with cache and without. I rebooted and tried it at 1600Mhz (100Mhz FSB) and it still shows up.

I just wanted to know if anyone has run memtest on a similar setup and what their results were. The ram was bought recent enough to return ... just don't know if they'll charge me 20% if I refund or if I should rather exchange it.

My EPoX 4BDA (i845 chipset) and PC2700 Kingmax 5ns runs MemTest 86 fine. In fact, it passes multiple loops all the way up to 194Mhz RAM speed at 2-3-3.

The RAM is faulty, you shouldn't be charged to replace it.

Def,

Thanks for the tip. I asked Crucial if I could get a replacement and requested that they give me a module with MT chips. I hope it works out.

I only have 256 megs of memory, but everything else is the same and I pass without errors. And my memory is currently clocked to 176/352.

Im running it right now on my P41.6a@2400 150fsb timings are 2-2-2-5. Not a Hichkup yet. On test 3....no errror.s..i hope it all goes through. This ram has been good to 155fsb with the same timings. I Think with cooling and voltage mod ill be able to hit 160fsb on this setup. Not sure how well the PCI's are gonna last.
