Memory??

Ok so I don't know much about computers just yet, know enought to build my own but hey I just want to know more. Not really sure what it means when they give #s on memory such as 3-2-2-5 or something like that. One member here tried to explain it but would really need something bit more...low key. Does anyone know an article that covers exactly what all that means?
