Ok I have one gig of ram in my computer right now( 2x 512).....I run a really high end audio production program that need a crap load on memory to run.......so I picked up one stick of memery for really REALLY cheap(1x 1gb)......I have the 2x 512 on for dual channel.......I was wondering if i put that 1x1gb in will it take away my dual channel???? or do i really lose that much performance without dual channel.....if that is the case i will have to get another stick....thanks

no, you won't lose your dual channel. You will simply have a gig of ram in dual channel (2x512), and a gig of ram in single channel (1x1GB). You don't have to get another stick to make it work.

EDIT: and make sure all the memory sticks are the same speed (pc 3200, pc 2700 etc..).
