I currently have two sticks of pc2100 ram (2 x 128 = 256m). I just ordered a new 512 stick of pc2700 ram. Are there any consequences if I leave the old sticks in the motherboard and add the pc2700, or should I take out the original two sticks. Is it bad to have memory sticks that dont run at the same speed?

Thanks

No its not bad at all but all the RAM will run at the lowest speed of RAM there is, so all if it will run at PC2100. A gig of RAm is alot more useful than 512 of a little bit faster stuff.

So what would happen if you had a stick of 433 and one at 400 and your cpu bus is at 400. That would be okay, right?

Kind Regards,

You could always OC your PC2100 to PC2700 speeds (333mhz), if it can handle it.

If not, like mentioned before, everything will run at PC2100 speeds.
