Memory upgrade on Dell Inspiron 1100

I recently jumped into the notebook arena by purchasing a Dell Inspiron 1100. It came with 128mb of shared PC2100 DDR 266 memory. I have built several PCs but have absolutely no experience with laptops. I need to know if anybody has some best practices for accessing/replacing memory in this particular laptop. Also...are there two modules (64mb each) or just one. Will I need to use two identical modules when upgrading or can I mix sizes (I know some motherboards are picky). Also....is there a difference from this PC2100 and others that are used for home PC's? I'm a noob at portables so please be kind!
Thanks,
SDC

i have an inspiron 1100 as well.

there is a difference from this PC2100 and those for PCs.

I got my 256MB stick at crucial.com for about 52 dollars.

your inspiron manual will have instructions on how to add more memory for that laptop. (just unscrew the back and follow directions on how to stick in the ram)

there is one stick of 128mb ddr ram in your laptop.

u can mix sizes.

Yeah, the memory is very easy to replace. It should be a crime to sell a PC running XP w/ 128mb ram.
