Hi

I am getting an error message on the first screen of my desktop saying "An memory error has occurred. Memory timings have been reset to automatic settings".

The Desktop is rebooting continuously, I am barely able to go to the BIOS screen also. When I chanced to look at the BIOS setting once, it showed me that the memory speed was 320MHZ.

Please note its a:-
2.8GHz HT
256MB DDRII 333 MHz

Please help

Soo... by HT I'm assuming this is a AMD processor...

and by DDR2 & 333 --- you mean DDR2-667?

and.... by lack of motherboard I'm assuming this is some prebuilt OEM machine?

No

The machine is an Intel

so its

2.8 Ghz (Hyperthreading)
RAM would come up in the system as 333MHZ
Chipset is an Intel 865G Series

Hope it suffices

If it's Intel 865G chipset, then it's not ddr2; it's just vanilla ddr1.

Have you tried clearing the CMOS?
