memory test is slow on bootup

I have two computers that are almost identical .
one of them counts thru the 128 meg test during boot up in 5 seconds. the other one takes 13 seconds to do the same thing. The computer that
takes 13 seconds to count thru the memory boots much slower too. What could possible be the problem ??

On the computer that takes longer, do you have more stuff running on bootup, go run msconfig and check...

Does the slower computer go through the RAM two or three times? There's a BIOS setting for "Quick POST" that does a less thorough RAM check. This setting might be on in the slower computer.

it only counts thru the memory one time but the counting is slower than it should be
I need a gurn to help me soon so that I dont have to tear this puppy
