Memory speeds

I have 512 mb of OCZ pc3200 ddr400 but it only runs at 166.2 mhz when i check in cpu-z. I have a pentium 4 2.4C 1mb level 2 cache processor

that's prob because your cpu runs off a total fsb of 533mhz. 166mhz x 4 = 533mhz. i believe you have the 2.4A GHz prescott.

hmmmm cpu-z says that its a 2.4 pentium 4, fsb 533 and revision C stepping 3 . and also, 133mhzx4=532 not 166

Then the memory is running faster than the FSB. Check your BIOS to make sure your settings are correct.

You didn't say what motherboard you have, but you will need to set the memory buss speed to 200mhz or 2:3 (not sure what you will see in the BIOS) to get the memory up to 200mhz.

Also the C model P$ only has 512kb (1/2mb) L1 cache. The Prescott E model have 1mb.

pentium 4 boards won't run the pc3200 memory at 200mhz unless you are running 200mhz fsb. Since you are running at 533mhz, you can't set the memory to run at 200mhz.
