Memory Speed/Type and Power Consumption?

Here's a graphic from a Google translated German Forum. The author was extolling the possibility of getting to 25W Idle with an AMD Quad.

My Question:
Is the power consumption difference because of Speed (800 vs 1066) or Type (DDR2 vs DDR3)? See graphs below.

I'd ask the author but my German is non-existent.

He used a Jetway MA3-79GDG, which has both DDR2 and DDR3 memory sockets. In his tests he showed the power consumption of both memory types.

In this graph he shows increasing power consumption with increased memory speed:

Generally speaking the faster the ram speed the more power required. This is dependent on a lot of things such as, chipset, FSB frequency, total amount of ram installed, brand of ram, and mobo manufacterer. There are probably other factors as well but the bottom line is the faster you go the more it costs.
