Memory speed help!!!

Hi,

I have been looking to pick up some new performance RAM but am afraid to drop $300+ on something that the MB may not be able to use/recognize. I have already had really bad luck with some Asus boards where if you put any memory in except for what's on Asus' qualified vendor list it simply won't run. My newest dilemma though is that I am looking to pick up a socket AM2 DFI LanPartyUT NF590 SLI-M2R/G board and according to DFI's manual on the board it will only take DDR2 533 or 667 DIMMs. So if the high end memory that companies like Crucial and OCZ carry are rated for PC28000 does this mean that it won't work in the board? Are there any really good high end boards that are rated to take this memory or is the speed that the memory manufacturers are referring to for overclocking?

Help?!?

Thanks.
