memory speed explation

Can someone please explain what exactly it means when you see video memory 350mhz/1000mhz?

is the first number the memory speed and the second bandwidtch rating?

there are no cores that run @ 1000 mhz. usually, its core/mem ie 350/500 (but since the memory is DDR, one can say 350/1000)

I guess you are referring to the 6800GT speeds. As shady06 said the 350mhz references the core clock frequency and the 1000mhz or 1Ghz refers to the memory clock frequency.
