Memory refuses to run using divider

I have increased the htt to 250 mhz with a 2:1 divider on the ram and it runs prime 95 without any problems.
But when I put the divider up higher to say 3/4 it fails prime 95 almost immediately. Using this divider should not be a problem for my ram as it is 3200 Geil Ultra memory which is rated at 200 mhz and this divider should clock it below that at 187.5.
It has passed memtest at this rating.
Ldt is at x4 both times.
I have a venice athlon 64 3000+.
I have a dfi nforce 4 lanparty sli-d motherboard and 600W Enermax psu, latest bios flash, all power connectior in and stock cpu cooling.
Any ideas what is going on?

Thanks.
