I will be purchasing the Asus PK5-E WIFI/AP and the c2d E6750.

What DDR2 memory should I use in order to get a stable moderate overclock and take advantage of the 1333FSB?

...best price/performance?

Thanks for any insight!

Any DDR2-800 would work. If you want to go past 3.2GHz, you will need to OC your RAM a bit (not really a problem with good RAM) or move up to DDR2-1000/DDR2-1066.

I use the same board. I run my Q6600 G0 at 333 FSB. At this speed, instead of the stock 266, I simply set my ram to the option of PC800 within the BIOS with no need to OC it. However I have tried oc'ing the RAM and have had success with my 2 brands. I have 4 sticks (1024) of Patriot PC2-6400 4-4-4-12 2.1V and 4 sticks of Crucial Ballistic PC2-6400 4-4-4-12 2.1V. I have tried both sets and I can get both sets to run at 500mhz (instead of rated 400mhz) by loosening the timings to 5-5-5-15 and running 2.1-2.2 V on that same board.

Good luck.

Decent DDR-800 ram can be expected to O/C at least 10%. DDR2-800, running at 440 will give you a more than moderate system O/C of 3.5GHz (see sig.) Point being, you don't need anything more than DDR2-800 with the E6750.

See my sig, you are going with the same CPU and mobo as me, so the Crucial is good ram and well dont get me started on how awesome the lights on the ram looks. If money is an issue you can get any quality ram with 5-5-5 timings for less money and it really isnt gonna be that big of a difference performance wise.

Today's featured deal at Newegg is the Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail for only $49.99 (after $25 rebate). That's dirt cheap! Also, looks like others here are using this memory and overclocking just fine.

By the way, I have this motherboard and CPU combo, and found a problem with the temperatures it reports - and I'm not the only one. Something you may want to look into if you haven't already bought it!
