Memory Questions - Which Set?

Hey Guys...

I am running twin sticks of 512MB of standard, Crucial DDR400 with my Athlon 64 3000+ / Aopen AK86-L mobo running at stock. Now, I really don't delve into overclocking memory that much, but I do not want my memory to hold me back from any potential overclocking I might do. These standard sticks are running at 3-3-3-8, and I know that Crucial has come out with the Ballistix series that run at 2-2-2-6 at default.

Now, main question is would there be a noticable increase in performance running at default speeds between the two modules, or (and secondary question), would the potential benefits just be with any overclocking I may involve myself with.

Have a good read of AT's

PC3200 Memory Roundup posted just today

>>> has some very good things to say about Crucial's Ballistix memory especially in regards to A64 platforms. Its the only memory that translated its EXCELLENT performance from teh intel platform over to the A64 platform.

I think its truely amazing how these PC3200 babies are able to o/c to DDR500 whilst maintaining tight timings, the tightest off all being Crucial's Ballistix.
