Hi. I am upgrading to a new motherboard that takes DDR400 and I was wondering if I could use my leftover DDR pc2100/266 MHZ memory without taking a big hit.I don't do any gaming or overclocking.Don't want to buy new memory if I don't have to.
Thanks a a lot.

Yes, the 133mhz ddr will most probably work fine in the new board. You're also unlikely to 'take a hit' as you're upgrading the board. Obviously your overall performance will be lower than it could be, but as you haven't experienced it with 200mhz ddr, then what you don't know can't hurt you. How much memory is it? Surely the extra few $$ to get some more isn't that much of a problem? DDR memory is so cheap now. ebay FTW lol

Yeah, you should be able to use that RAM. You will actually see an upgrade in performance because of the new board but memory bandwidth will suffer a bit of a hit. You shouldn't notice it though.
