sorry if this isn't the right forum for this, I looked and didn't see a better place for it.
I've decided to get new memory, been looking around, and am torn at to what exactly to get. I was thinking a 2x1gb set, the Corsair XMS Xpert looks killer, but I previously had the XMS Pro with the LED, and it didn't fit well in slots 3/4 since my heatsink's so big (TT Beetle) the XMS Xpert looks even taller so I guess that's out of the question. Thew timing on most the 1 gig sticks I see seems to be pretty bad compared to the 512. What kind of performance difference would I see on a a64 939 system with 2 1 gig sticks, as opposed to 4 512's. Price isn't much of a concern as I would drop 300 on the Corsair if it would fit with my heatsink. If I run 4 sticks I loose dual channel mode right? I know overall timing doesn't make a whole lot of difference on newer systems, but even if it's only 2-3% speed, I'd like to get whatever I can. Looking at the G.Skill on Newegg, seems awesome for the price
