I have 2 of these modules link 512mb each running in dual channel for about a year now with an AMD XP 2400+ running at 2-3-3-6 as stated on the module. I just upgraded to an AMD XP 3200+ with 400mhz bus and the computer would keep rebooting and wouldn't load windows until I changed the timings to 2.5-3-3-6 I don't understand why the memory is doing this and haven't read anything about this rev2 memory haveing problems with this processor, bus. please let me know how I can run this at 2-3-3-6 again. if anyone can help thanks.
 
Because 2400+ had a 266Mhz FSB and you where runing it syncroniusly (sp?), hence you could do better timings.

However, 3200+ uses a 400Mhz FSB and the latency timings can't be as low as in 266 any more.

Basicly, its because you are runing your memory at higher speeds now.
 
You won't suffer any issues if you increase the voltage up to 2.8.

You really shouldn't have to though, that memory should be running at those timings at 2.6V.

What mobo do you have?
 
Have you tried updating the BIOS to the latest version?

I checked on their site and it looks like they definitely released some updated BIOS's with the intention of fixing memory stability problems. If you aren't running the latest one this 'may' fix your issue. Here is the link to the page you need. You'll need to check what BIOS version you currently have running.
 
tried 2-3-3-11 almost worked was loading windows and just about when it was going to get to the sign on screen it rebooted.
 
try em one at a time. test each one at 2-3-3-6 at 2.6V then 2.7V then 2.8V. one/both could be on the verge of croaking. gotta love a lifetime warranty!

well, if its OCZ maybe you should try high volts, at like 2.9v, and try maxing out your northbridge voltage, too

or.. maybe you should try 2-3-2-11

or... how about trying 199mhz or 201mhz? sometimes things are picky like that..
 
took the ram out cleaned everything with compressed air and put the ram back in and it worked at the correct timings. Crazy stuff?
 
spoke too soon, got errors and system rebooted in while in window.
Tried 2-3-2-11 no luck
it didn't like 199mhz wouldn't boot at all
 
when I try them in single mode they work fine but not in dual mode. Even at the max voltage 2.8 gets errors in windows. OCZ still hasn't emailed me back yet either.
 
make sure the CPU voltage is set correctly in BIOS. in my experience, the BIOS will usually not set the correct voltage when a new CPU is throw in.

did you clear CMOS before you put the new CPU in?

dunno, depends what your cpu is supposed to be at 😛

i think for a AXP 3200+ its 1.75v?
