I'm not extremely technical and I'm just now getting into the laptop world.

I currently have a Sony Vaio Athlon XP 1600 with 256sdram. I'm looking into buying more ram and just now realized that there are a lot more factors that comes into play. One especially is the brand...I used to think that ram is ram...but I guess not. Can I buy a 256 ddr and install it with my 256sdram? Is it going to cause any complications on my system? Do I have to look for memory that's specifically designed for my model computer?

Also can anyone refer me to a link on where to buy a good dependable ddr for a reasonable price?

Thanks!!!

If you labtop uses SDRAM you must buy SDRAM not DDR. also makes sure the ram speed are teh same (pc133)
