Memory Problem

Hi I have a problem with my memory/motherboard that neither my vendor or MSI can help me with. Perhaps someone here has had the same problem or may know of a solution.

I recently built a computer that has Dual Channel memory, however when I boot my computer it says that I only have singel-channel memory. I ran a number of tests, Sandra, Everest and CpuZ and all three say that my memory is single channel. If i remeber well, when I first built the computer it said Dual-channel, now for some reson it says single.

My computers specs are:

CPU: AMD64 3200+ s939
Memory: Corsair Value Select 2x 512mb Dual-Channel
MB: MSI K8N NEO 2
Video: MSI GeForce 5900xt
PSU: Antec 480w
I also have a Hauppauge Wintv 250 PCI installed.

If anyone can help please do I would rather fix the problem myself than RMA it.

The memory is in the two purple slots...i believe those are slots 1 and 3. The motherboard manual says that the two purple slots must be occupied before using the gree slots.

slots 1/2 and 3/4 are dual channel, you have them in the single channel slots currently

Thanks,
Tried it and it worked. Im surprised the manual does not mention that...it says not to use the green slots 2 and 4 unless 1 and 3 are occupied.

Oh well, I have dual channel now so what do i care.

Thanks for the help
