Memory Problem

I have two sticks of 512 pc2700 kingston ram in my computer right now. For some reason when both sticks are inserted into the motherboard my system reboots itself occasionally in 3d games including Star Wars Galaxies and WarCraft 3. When only one of the sticks of ram is in I don't get any crashes. I know neither of the individual sticks of ram are damaged. I've put one in and tried with no crashes and replaced it with the other and still no crashes. Only when both are inserted I start to get crashes. Both sticks are pc2700 and both sticks are the same brand. However, they don't look the same. The memory modules look different on the sides of the sticks. The question is, why are they not working together? Is it some specific function one memory module might have that the other doesn't?

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

Can you list some specs on your computer?

Aside from that, if you motherboard has more than 2 slots have you tried various placements of the RAM? Like one stick in slot 1 and the other in slot 3? or slot 2 and 3 are filled with slot 1 empty?
