I haven't been paying too much attention lately, but does anyone know why the price of RAM went up almost $30 in some places over the past month? I didn't hear of any other earthquakes in Taiwan. :)

It's the annual late summer RAM price hike. Computer sales jump now because of students getting computers for school. That and the fact there were reports a few months ago that there would be a dearth of RAM starting this summer and which was expected to last a couple years. Whether or not there is any correlation, I don't know.
