My system:
Windows xp pro
msi k8n neo 4-f mobo
amd 64 3000+
xfx 6600gt 128mb pci-e
2-512 mb kingston pc3200 ddr KVR400X64C3AK2 (in dual channel)
2-512 mb corsair pc3200 ddr CMX512-3200LL (in dual channel)

Okay, heres the question.
I just added the corsair memory (a freebie from my son).
After I did, I had to re-activate windows (never happened before) and when I go to control panel and system and look at the first page, under the memory it recognizes the 2gb of memory and says "physical address extension". Is that a bad thing or a good thing? I have done a lot of remodeling inside a computer before, never had to reactivcate windows from it and never seen that "physical address extension" show up.

Thanks guys.

yes, thanks, i have seen those articles.
i just don't get out of them if it slows the system down, has no effect, or is a good thing.
