Mobo is k8N Neo 2 Platinum just purchased 2 gigs of corsair value ram 512 each from New Egg works great but just found out after a few days of use that one of my programs and the only one that has the problem as far as I know right now Igrafx "micrografx" Picture Publisher 9.0 gives the following error with four sticks of ram installed when I open any picture in it.

The instruction at "0x5f4012a1" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read".

I on dont get the error with only 2 sticks installed and I have another pair of Kingston ram and I have swamped them out and same results.

So is this a motherboard issue / memory issue or a program issue?

I am upset about this as the I use the program several days a week and really there is nothing that does what I use it for as fast as it does it. It is just very convenient but not working with 2 gigs of ram really sucks.

I have already tried reinstalling the software. Also tried turning of DEP for it and that didnt work either.

I know it does but I have a feeling it is windows fault. Not sure. Motherboard is brand new and other programs open the pictures fine with 2 gig memory installed. I just replaced this motherboard with the same model RMA on the other one. Yes, bios is up to date.

Checking it in safe mode is a pain because I have to uninstall INCD by NERO because it is bugged with XP Pro preventing boot into safemode. Everyone I know that has installed INCD on XP Pro has the same problem. Uninstallation causes half the icons in the system tray to dissapear.

Format my HD and spend all day reinstalling and tweaking my hardware and drivers, lol. Yeah, right.
