How much memory on the video card do I need to run some AA? I'm looking at an X1950Pro 256MB or 512MB. I play games like Ut 2k4 and Quake 3 mostly, so they aren't exactly cutting edge.

256 should be beyond fine for those games. However, if you are going to play UT3, I would highly recommend getting a better card with more memory.

Like Nightmare said, it really depends on how important future-proofing is to you. At that resolution, 256 should be fine, especially for UT 2k4 and Q3.

The 6600GT/9800 owned UT2004 and Quake 3 with AA/AF. Hell, the GeForce4 Ti cards owned UT2004.

Thanks.
No future-proofing, I'm just getting frustrated with my 7600GS's inability to give me AA with JK2 and still maintain high framerates. Going to use this thing to tide me over (and then serve as a backup card) until the 65nm G80 refresh.
