Hi there,

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 6000D. I ordered it with 256 mb so that i can upgrade the ram later myself to save few bucks. I have been seraching for the 1gb x1 sim and all the sims i find are priced 350 plus.

However, I found (Kingston 1GB PC2-3200 400MHz 200-pin Non-ECC Unbuffered CL3 DDR2 SDRAM SODIMM (SKU: KVR400D2S31G) ) for $ 140.

However, i am not sure if this is a good ram or not. All i know is i need DDR2 PC2-3200 ? CL=3 ? UNBUFFERED ? NON-ECC ? DDR2-400 ? 1.8V ? 128Meg x 64 .

I would appreciate if someone can help me picking the right cheap 1 gb memory module for my notebook. Help will be extremely appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The last thing you want to do is buy Dell memory.

Kingston is great as far as value brands go, or Crucial.

You didn't upgrade your processor to 533mhz bus did you? I think you'll need pc4200 memory if you did.
