When I look at the Win 7 system performance numbers, all my graphics stuff is about 7.7-7.8, which is VG. However my 'memory' score is only 5.9!! I have this high-performance G Skill memory: (F2-8800CL5D-4GBPI/DDR2-1100/PC2-8800/2GBx2) which I think is the wrong memory for my motherboard (Asus P5B-D-WiFi). It will not run at it's rated speed on my MB, and it is now running at 'PC2-6700'...

My MB has had a known history of struggling with certain types of memory. The above memory is NOT on the 'Qualified Vendor List' at the Asus website for my motherboard. Link to my MB website:
http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=o7He8KHagWiFxHRw

The fastest Asus-approved memory for this MB is DDR2-800, and this is the list:

Memory issues can be a bit mind-boggling....Think this 'memory' situation is what's slowing up my computer now?

Also, another side issue...Comp only 'sees' 3 gig of ram...

The 'crucial' memory website has a neat 'memory recommendation' tool based on your specific MB...check it out for my MB:
http://www.crucial.com/store/listpar...Deluxe/WiFi-AP

Should I replace the memory I have? / If yes, what 4 gig of ram should I get for this MB? What do you folks think?

You have very nice DDR2 with a very old chipset.

While the P5B series is the longest lasting of all the P965 boards out there for enthusiasts, it doesn't change the fact that it has trouble running RAM @ very high speeds.

As for only seeing 3 GB in an x64 OS, you obviously don't have Memory Remapping enabled.
You can enable that in your BIOS for full 4+ GB.

Getting different RAM isn't likely going to change anything, & the memory score isn't something i'd worry about anyway.

Post your CPU-Z Memory tab (NOT the SPD tab) screenshot here maybe?

What speed/timings is it doing?

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about the WEI memory score. It seems lots of RAM scores 5.9 in Win7. My Kingston 2x2GB DDR2-667 5-5-5-15 scores 5.9, with an Athlon II X4 630 at stock speeds.

Hmm... won't let me copy/paste CPU-Z screen from 'Paint'.

My DDR2-800 on stock timings scores 7.3. ^_^

But yeah... don't take WEI seriously. Seeing only 3GB of RAM with a 64-bit OS is rather troubling, however...

Your ram can run at a high speed, but you may not be running it at its max speed. What is the speed your are running it on? and what timing? You can get them via CPU-Z.

Note that, if you are using 32bit OS, then chances are you will only see 3-3.5Gb at max regardless of how much physical ram you have.
