Memory impact on performance article

There was an article recently that demonstrated that faster memory didn't do much for game performance. I think it was on Anand. Does anyone have the link? I searched but couldnt find the article.
 
Why wouldn't faster memory improve performance much? If that was true, nobody would ever overclock the memory on their video cards if it meant no gains.
