in cpu-z in the memory tab, it says the timings are: freq 148mhz, fsb 66, then 2-2-2-6. then on the spd tab it shows the stock timings of 200 2.5-3-3-8. right now in bios the thing is at 215 x15, cas2@1t. does this mean i can keep raising the frequency until it says 200mhz in the memory tab, or just use the SPD table as where i originally started.

those numbers don't make sense. if it says 215x15 then you are already at 3.225 which is o/c. what is cpu-z showing as your processor speed?

3.225. i changed the frequency from 200 to 215 a while ago until i noticed the two diff settings on the memory and spd tabs today.

it sounds like you are running your memoyr 5:4, is this correct? i personally run my 2.8c at a 225FSB but kick the memory back to 5:4 (because my board is an oem type and doesn't allow memory voltage adjustments) which equals the memory running @ 180MHz.

in theory you could run it until the tab shows 200, but since you are out of sync then the cpu would very high and you may have some heat issues, espcecially with the prescott p4s. also make sure your board has a agp/pci lock and make sure you have the correct cooling.

i was always under the impression that if you have the memory information on the board set to spd or auto, it just read the info from the little chip on the memory module. were you having trouble running your ram @ auto when you o/c to 215FSB?
