I have 512mb of Kingston Value RAM 2700 that i OCed to DDR400 speeds. I was wondering should i get another 512mb stick of it so i can run in dual channel mode, or whether i should ditch all that memory get 1gb of high performance DDR400.

Also the other thing is i am in dire need of a HDD, I am running an ancient slow 20gig western digital HDD. I am already posting about which HDD to get and i think i know which one. However which would benefit me most to upgrade first. I am leaning towards the HDD so i can sleep at night lol.

Well should i get the 50$ PATA versionof the 7200.7 or the SATA version which is 90.

yup, HDD. No point in having ram to run games fast if you can't fit any games on your hard drive!

HDD, most definitely! Having 1 GB of high quality ram is not going to help much if you don't have hdd to page with. Even now with your 20gb being slower, it seriously affects the performance of your system.

How much of a performance increase will i see wen i upgrade my HDD. Im gonna get the IDE version ( :( ) of the Seagate Barracuda 7200.7. I found a site where it is only 49.99 and the lowest i could find for theSATA version is 89.99 and the PATA version is supposedly quieter. -_-

Oh well is this a good choice or could i do better.
