Memory for new build

Hi,

I'm gonna build a new i5-2500K/Z68 based system with 2x4GB memory. Will be doing some light overclocking with it. Wondering if the PC16000 memory are worth it, or will I be better off saving some money and going with cheaper, slower memory?

Not much point in higher clocked ram with Sandy Bridge since OCing is done by increasing multiplier not Bclk. Save your money.

But see this before you make up your mind: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/memory/display/sandy-bridge-ddr3_7.html#sect0. You don't need fast memory to overclock, but you might need it to get the most out of your overclock.

I guess it comes down to a personal choice, more money for extra FPS that might be high enough already to not be noticed, over saving some money. I would go with saving money, for me smooth FPS is all I care about, doesn't have to be the max FPS.
