hello everyone, my first post here.
im building a new system that will be replacing my 1 year odl athlon xp.
i have made the decision to get the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum. my question is what kind of ram would be the best for this motherboard.
I intend to overclock so i was think of either
OCZ 1GB (512MB x 2) DDR PC-4400 Dual Channel Kit Enhanced Latency Gold Edition or
OCZ 1GB (512MB x 2) DDR PC-3700 Dual Channel Kit Enhanced Bandwidth Platinum.
i would like to hear your opinion on this, will either of them work on this motherboard. thanks in advance .

I am waiting for my MSI board. I got myself OCZ 2x512MB PC4000 EL Dual Channel.

I am pretty sure that I will be able to reach high speeds, especially in sync mode. Let's see once I'll
get my hands on the mobo.

Recommendation that I got from OCZ is to either use PC3700 EB or EL PC4000 Gold Revision 2.

The difference?

BGA chips are used in the EB which are super liked by A64 and new Hynix chips are used in the Gold Rev.2.

I have no clue how the Gold is going to perform on A64 because no one has tested it. The guys at OCZ are doing tests on this RAM right now and will be posting results somewhere this week or early next week.

I don't know how they are doing the tests. So far their tests have been completely useless. They did an initial test of PC3700 Gold Revision 3. But it was done using a single module.

That Rev. 3 RAM is very similar to the PC4000 one I listed above (same chips).

Either these RAM modules get tested using single modules or with Intel motherboards.

Totally useless information to any real overclocker.

Stay tuned.
